Contagion

Watching Contagion while living under one made me ponder about the possibilities for better screenwriting. As this movie rebirths and people started uploading it on Youtube, it feels like documentation which i think is its only achievement.

 

I was at first stunned by the events director got right. Hollywood got a Nostradamus on board. The origination, politics over vaccines and the subject under question mark. However, it didn’t intersect any ideology that run by as soul. Story starts by one case which later trace the suspected places but on global parameter, it depreciates perspective.

 

John Krasinki’s the quite place cared for illustrative plot which held the narrative and possibilities of other themes too but still remained focused for upcoming challenges for a family in trouble. We see the world of the movie through them.

 

On bigger scale while depicting the disaster, 2012 movie time-lined well and tossed the themes like the ‘farewell Atlantis’, capitalism, the arks of selfishness and darker side of human beings. It succeeds to run the ideological counter in parallel. It Stemmed the characters we look forward for and tried to catch as many corners as possible under limited screen time without rushing.

When the camera scales the orbiting planet as whole, there is need to depict collisions of opinion. The diverse nature of human behavior and pendulums of high cliffs and lowlands. Situation however fatal mutilates stories with versatile parameters and frequencies. Contagion does not coordinate or generalizes as one.

The reality today outsmarts the movie. The Netflix wave of sweeping away all the ticks on clock and the celebrity introduced culture of quarantine day#1 to facade the fabric of fanciness. It shows the diverse nature of digesting the new normal. The conditional ignorance, panic shopping, the new buzzwords like sanitizer and the uploaded culture to live in. Movie could have depicted some events that churns out some notes to pinch with alarming consequences. There is potential, talented actors and team but still need to work on finding the direction to pedal on.
