I am raped and discarded. You’d think I will be the hashtag of the month, topic for an year, trauma dreaded for decades.

Within next few hours HE is winning all the attention, getting all the coverage, setting all the trends. Even at worst my life my body is the second hashtag of the day, first been usurped by a ruthless man’s careless comment.

Then there is a torrent of discussion. About appropriate clothes, reasonable way, suitable road, feasible options, safe timings, and safety of children. Then mullahs and religion jump in and countering them are the Aurat march women, then there is a debate over constitution and corruption. There is everything in news including the phrases “consequences of my own actions" – but nobody knows my condition. Inside, outside. I am questioning my life every moment.  

 

Next 24 hours history of the hashtags makes full circle, but nothing changes.
